Karl Allen is a British contemporary artist working across media in performance, sculpture, and film. Inspired by pop culture, lewd sexual innuendo, and humour, Allen constructs complicated critiques of consumerism and art. “I just wanna do shit.” Among his recurring themes in his Abstract Expressionism is the satirizing of the iconic influencer, which depicts a selfie style composition, vein. Born on February 26th, 1975 in Croydon, Surrey, he went on to receive his BA from Central Saint Martins in London, UK and his MA at the Brighton Screen and Film School.
